Zinc oxide ointment 10% is suitable for affected skin. Zinc oxide protects the skin and has a slightly drying effect. This makes the ointment particularly suitable for treating cold sores and diaper rash. The petroleum jelly in this ointment provides a higher lipid content and coats the skin. It helps protect the skin, reducing water loss and keeping it hydrated. Paraffin ensures good spreadability.

Unless otherwise prescribed, apply twice a day. You can use the ointment for as long as needed. Zinc oxide leaves a white film on the skin, but this is easily removed with baby oil or skin oil.
